Nature and Result of the Suit.
The state of Texas brought suit No. 36183, in the district court against George Findlay, Francis C. Farwell, and Hobart C. Chatfield-Taylor, to recover an alleged excess in a great number of surveys in a number of counties in the Panhandle of Texas, which were patented to Abner Taylor, in payment for the building of the present state capitol. The allegation in this regard is that by mutual mistake excesses were included in said surveys aggregating 55,116 acres, and that the state is the owner of an undivided interest in the entire tract to the extent of said…
