This action was commenced on May 16, 1933, and was brought for the purpose of determining the liability of the defendants upon an alleged guaranty of deposits in the Citizens Bank of Taylors, the giving of which came about in this way: In the early fall of 1926, an official examination of its books revealed that the bank was in bad financial condition, due, as claimed by the defendants, to a shortage in the accounts of the cashier, Charles Tea, of more than $26,000.00.
