This action was brought to recover damages in the-nature of demurrage for 11 days’ detention of the Italian bark Ami-cizia, in the delivery of 246 tons of old scrap-iron, in the month of July, 1880.

On the ninth of April, 1880., a charter-party was executed between the libelant, as master of the vessel, and the respondents, by which it was provided that the vessel should carry “say 250 tons of old scrap-iron” from Plymouth, England, to New York; that the ship ■“being so loaded shall therewith proceed to New York, United States, only Atlantic dock, with liberty to take other cargo to New York…
