Union Rural Electric Association (UREA) appeals the judgment entered on a jury verdict awarding plaintiffs, Jami and Jennifer Huddleston, surviving minor children of James Douglas Huddleston, $525,000. We reverse and remand with directions.

On the morning of January 28, 1987, a single engine airplane, chartered by UREA and piloted by Charles Brooks, departed the Jefferson County Airport for an intended arrival in Nucía, on Colorado’s western slope. On board were the minor plaintiffs’ father, who was a paid consultant to UREA, the pilot Brooks, and two UREA board members.…
