This action is brought by plaintiffs as holders, against the defendant as acceptor of a bill of exchange, of which the following is a copy: “$2,5S7.90. New1 York, June 25. 1870. Thirty days after date, pay to the order of ourselves, twenty-five hundred and eighty-seven 90/100 dol*610lars, with exchange on New York, and charge the same to account of Christol & Struthers. To Mr. Wm. Hone, Savannah, Ga.” The bill was indorsed by Christol & Struthers, and accepted by defendant.
