I. Introduction

Plaintiff sues to recover for personal injuries he sustained August 5, 2002 when he fell into an uncovered hole in concrete flooring while engaged in construction of a law school dormitory on premises owned by defendant Trustees of Columbia University, where defendant J.A. Jones Construction Group, LLC was the general contractor. Defendants move for summary judgment dismissing the complaint. (CPLR 3212 [b].)
