The instant action was commenced by a New York City police officer to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by him when a terrorist bomb exploded outside police headquarters at One Police Plaza in downtown Manhattan. Defendants-appellants City of New York and the New York City Police Department appeal from a judgment of the Su*63preme Court entered upon a jury verdict in favor of plaintiff in the amount of $1,750,000 plus interest, costs and disbursements.
