After a bench trial, the trial court foreclosed a subcontractor’s materialman’s lien and awarded a retainage claim to the subcontractor against the landowners when the landowners’ contractor failed to pay the subcontractor. The trial court also entered a default judgment against the landowner/wife on the basis of her failure to answer or appear despite the answer and appearance of the landowner/husband, who represented himself.
