CLARK, Circuit Judge:

Lilia Ann Norton1 appeals from a district court order disqualifying her attorney, Kent Spriggs, from further representation of the plaintiffs in this civil rights action. The district court based its disqualification order on Canon 9 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, which cautions attorneys to *940“avoid even the appearance of professional impropriety.” Because we find that the appearance of impropriety or conflict of interest involved in this case, if any, is remote and speculative, we reverse.
