Kapper, J.:

An attachment has been granted requiring the sheriff of the county of New York to take into his possession the sum of $68,106, the funds of the defendant in said county. The defendant is a British banking corporation, and the action is brought for the alleged conversion by the defendant of certain bonds having an alleged value of the amount specified in the attachment. It is further claimed that these bonds were the property of the Northern Insurance Company of Moscow, a corporation created under the laws of Russia.
