This case comes before the court on Jerome Maple’s petition for rehearing and rehearing en banc (“Petition”) of the court’s rejection of his Fourth Amendment challenges to his convictions of possessing cocaine base in excess of five grams, see 21 U.S.C. § 844(a), and carrying a pistol without a license, see D.C.Code Ann. § 22-3204(a) (1981) (now codified at D.C.Code Ann. § 22-4504(a) (2001)).
