Action was brought by the Toledo Gas-Light & Coke Company, in the court of common pleas of this county, to recover on account of gas furnished to the city for the lighting of streets and public places through a series of years beginning with 1866 and ending with 1877. It is alleged that this gas was furnished under certain contracts with the city, presumably in the form of resolutions or ordinances, and that covering this period there were several contracts — one for ten years, one for one year and one for five years; and that by the terms of these contracts the bills were payable by the city…
