Plaintiffs David Schermerhorn, Mary Ann Wright, Huwaida Arraf, and Margriet Deknopper have sued the State' of Israel,, and its Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Public Security. On May 31, 2010, plaintiffs were passengers on the Challenger I, one of a group of ships seeking to draw public attention tó, and to penetrate, the Israeli naval blockade of the Gaza Strip that was in effect at the time.
