Plaintiff Michael H. Gelfand participated in an employee welfare benefit plan (“the Plan”) sponsored by his employer, defendant Citadel Broadcasting Company (“Citadel”),1 and established pursuant to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”), 29 U.S.C. § 1001 et seq. Defendant Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (“MetLife”) insures the Plan.
