This was a suit commenced before a justice of the peace by Alice Hendershott against William S. Calhoun, and taken by appeal to the circuit court, where a trial before the court and a jury resulted in a verdict and judgment for the defendant.

It appears that on the 7th day of February, 1882, the plaintiff executed to the defendant a lease under seal, demising certain premises for a term of one year from Hay 1,1882, and reserving as rent the sum of §300, payable in monthly installments of §25 each.
