The appellant, as sheriff and tax collector of Covington county, instituted this suit in the circuit court seek ing to recover of and from the appellee taxes alleged to be due by him as a resident owner of ten shares of the capital stock of the Lumber-Mineral Company, a corporation incorporated and existing under the laws of the state of Maine, but having its place of business in Covington county, Miss.
