Francis v. Rycroft

Appeal by the defendant, Alice Griffith Rycroft, from a judgment of the Supreme Court in favor of the plaintiff, entered in the office of the clerk of the county of New York on the 29th day of April, 1911, upon the verdict of a jury rendered by direction of the court, and also from an order entered in said clerk’s office on the 1st day of May, 1911, denying the defendant’s motion for a new trial made upon the minutes.

Miller, J.:
The plaintiff, the assignee of the executors of one John Eycroft, deceased, sues to recover the amount of several alleged loans, made by the said testator to the defendant between May 11, 1900, and October 3, 1900, aggregating two hundred and five pounds With interest. The defendant was the daughter-in-law of the said John Eycroft, and the several sums in question were advanced in amounts varying from five to sixty pounds to defray the expenses of the defendant and her daughter who were then traveling in Europe.
