Across the country, thousands of asbestos-related personal injury actions are pending. Plaintiffs therein contend that their injuries have been caused by asbestos products, allegedly manufactured, sold or distributed by the numerous codefendants. Unarco Industries, Inc., and Johns-Manville Corporation are two such codefendants. Unarco alone is a defendant in an estimated 14,000 actions nationwide.
