Real Party in Interest-appellant Kenneth W. Carlson (attorney for plaintiff-appellee Maureen Gap) appeals from the third circuit court’s June 18, 2002 final judgment in favor of defendant-appellee Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV). 1 The circuit court granted PGV’s motion for summary judgment as well as PGV’s motion for sanctions, attorneys’ fees, and costs (against Carlson only), the latter based upon violations of Hawai'i Rules of Civil Procedure (HRCP) Rules 11 and 16.
