This appeal brings under review a decree of the Law and Equity Court of the city of Richmond overruling the motion of the appellant (the Savings Bank of Richmond, a creditor of Charles L. Todd, and plaintiff in the trial court) to refer the cause to a commissioner in chancery— to ascertain whether the settlement made by the husband upon his wife, Mary Y. Todd, in consideration of her relinquishment of her contingent right of dower in the residue of his real estate and upon other considerations, was excessive and, therefore, voluntary and void, to that extent, as to plaintiff’s debt — and…
