This was an action to recover on a promissory note signed by twenty-four makers, as follows:

“Pretty Prairie, Kan.,
“$13,868.44. June 1, 1930.
“Thirty days after date, for value received, I, we, or either of us, promise to pay to the order of The Pretty Prairie Co-Op. Grain Co. of Pretty Prairie, Kansas, thirteen thousand eight hundred sixty-eight and 44/100 dollars, at the office of the Pretty Prairie Co-Op.
