On October 18, 2000, appellees, First Union National Bank (“First Union”), filed a motion to dismiss appellant Bank of Arkansas’s appeal. First Union argued that appellant’s appeal should be dismissed because the order appealed from is not a-final and appealable order pursuant to Rule 54(b) of the Arkansas Rules of Civil Procedure. Rule 54 states in relevant part:

When more than one claim for relief is presented in an action, whether as a claim, counterclaim, cross-claim, or third party claim, or when multiple parties are involved, the court may direct the entry of a final judgment as to one…
