Upon the showing made in the petition of Everett L. Fink, we deemed it proper to issue a writ of habeas corpus directed to the medical superintendent of the Ionia State hospital, and an ancillary writ of certiorari to the Hillsdale county circuit court. Returns were duly made. In 1949, petitioner was charged with the crime of arson in the Hillsdale county circuit court. Petitioner was a veteran with an honorable discharge and had a *565good reputation.
