Appeal from a decree of the Circuit Court of Culpeper county, pronounced March 30, 1900, in a suit in chancery, wherein the appellees were the complainants, and the appellants were the defendants.

Thomas Beasley died in the year 1853 possessed of several hundred acres of land' situated in Culpeper county, and leaving a widow and seven children, among others Lemuel Beasley 'and Thomas ~W. Beasley. By his will, probated in March, 1853, Thomas Beasley left all of his property to his wife for life, with *429remainder to all of his children, but by a codicil thereto he provided:
