HAYDEN, Presiding Judge.

The defendant, James Hawkins, appeals his conviction, following a jury trial, of delivery of a schedule II controlled substance (cocaine) in violation of Iowa Code section 204.401(l)(c) (1991). 1 Hawkins contends the conviction is not supported by substantial evidence, and the trial court erred in overruling his motion for judgment of acquittal.

In September 1992 Davenport police officers were conducting surveillance of the area of West Sixth and Vine Streets. At trial Officer Eric Court testified there had been complaints made about drug trafficking in that area.…
