On or about June 20, 1976, Bobby Hugh Copeland was injured in a vehicle collision in the City of Dallas. He was, within 72 hours, admitted to Parkland Memorial Hospital, operated by Dallas County Hospital District, and treated for his injuries so sustained.

Copeland employed William B. Perrin, an attorney, to represent him in his claim for damages resulting from the injuries sustained in the collision. The operator of the vehicle with which Copeland collided, from whom Copeland sought to recover damages, was insured by Members Mutual Insurance Company. After…
