After a jury trial, defendant, Darrell Brockman, was convicted of armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 18—2(a)), armed violence (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 33A—2), and aggravated battery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 12—4(a)). Defendant was sentenced to serve consecutive 30-year prison terms on the armed violence and armed robbery convictions. No judgment was entered on the aggravated battery verdict, as it was deemed to be a lesser-included offense of armed violence.
