Appellant Calvin Blair was convicted by a Pulaski County Circuit Court jury of battery in the first degree, possession of a firearm by certain persons, and theft by receiving; the jury further found he had employed the use of a firearm in the commission of the battery. Blair was sentenced as a habitual offender to a total of fifty-one years' imprisonment.
