Kenneth Hall challenges his conviction and sentence for first-degree murder and armed robbery. We affirm on all points and choose to address the merits with respect to two of his arguments on appeal. First, he argues that the trial court committed reversible error by failing to conduct a preliminary Nelson1 inquiry after he filed a pro se written motion to dismiss his appointed counsel. Second, he argues that the trial court erred in denying his request to instruct the jury on manslaughter by culpable negligence.
