This is a suit against Otis Elevator Company, which had a service contract on an old freight elevator located at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company in Little Rock. Terry Faulkner, an employee of 3M, claimed he was injured when the elevator suddenly jumped or fell and came to a sudden halt. The elevator was reported to have fallen from the fourth floor to just past the third floor landing. A jury awarded Faulkner $ 191,127. The only issue on appeal is whether there is sufficient evidence of Otis’ negligence which was the proximate cause of the accident. The…
