The Jno. F. Stevens Construction Company in 1912 entered into a contract with the city of New York for the construction of a part of the subway known as the Southern Boulevard and Westchester Avenue Eapid Transit Eailroad. It proceeded with the performance of its contract; but on August 11, 1913, before completing the same, filed in the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York, a voluntary petition in bankruptcy.
