Defendant-appellant Van Thompson appeals from his conviction, following a trial to the Hamilton County Municipal Court, for resisting arrest, in violation of R.C. 2921.33. Raising a single assignment of error, Thompson argues that the state failed to prove an essential element of the crime of resisting arrest, namely that there was a lawful basis on which to arrest him.
