FELIPE REYNA, Justice.

In a consolidated trial, a jury convicted Stephen Ruffin of nine charges of aggravated assault on a public servant for shooting at law enforcement officers during a standoff at his house. The jury assessed his punishment at ten years’ imprisonment for each charge. Ruffin contends in three issues that: (1) the court abused its discretion by excluding expert testimony that because of mental illness Ruffin did not know he was shooting at law enforcement officers; (2) the evidence is legally insufficient to prove that Ruffin committed three of the charged offenses…
