On November 24, 2008, defendant, Maria Pappas, treasurer and ex officio county collector of Cook County (Treasurer), filed a petition for leave to appeal with this court pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 306(a)(8) (210 Ill. 2d R. 306(a)(8)). The Treasurer sought to appeal the trial court’s orders of October 24, 2008, and November 13, 2008, granting plaintiffs request for class certification in his class action complaint.
