On October 27, 1986, following a bench trial in Detroit Recorder’s Court, defendant Jerald James was convicted of two counts of armed robbery, MCL 750.529; MSA 28.797, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2). On November 10, 1986, defendant was sentencéd to concurrent terms of 2VÍ to 7 years imprisonment for the armed robbery convictions and a consecutive term of 2 years imprisonment for the felony-firearm conviction.
