Defendant was indicted for the crime of murder. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1965, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1.) Following a bench trial, defendant was found guilty and sentenced to a term of not less than 50 nor more than 75 years in the Illinois State Penitentiary.

On November 30, 1973, this court dismissed defendant’s appeal pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 606(a) and (b) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 110A, par. 606), for failure to file a timely notice of appeal. (People v. Williams, 16 Ill. App. 3d 111, 305 N.E.2d 583.) On November 27, 1974, our Supreme Court…
