The plaintiff in this adversary proceeding originally filed its complaint in the Chan- eery Court for Davidson County, Tennessee, asserting a statutory lien against certain real property securing payment of $5,852 for materials and labor furnished in the erection of an improvement on that property. The complaint included as a defendant the debtor, a subcontractor which had contracted with the plaintiff for the material and labor in question.
