Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court (Lamont, J.), rendered June 12, 2008 in Albany County, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crime of endangering the welfare of a child.

In June 2007, defendant (age 36) met and befriended the victim (age 15). He allegedly told the victim that he was in the music recording business and she ostensibly envisioned herself as an aspiring singer. Defendant invited her to his apartment, where she sang for him.
