For the reasons set forth more fully below, I respectfully dissent from the decision of the majority.
The case at bar represents a consolidation of two appeals from interrelated orders of the circuit court of Cook County pertaining to the validity and regularity of the special aldermanic election held in the 26th ward of the city of Chicago on March 18, 1986.
