{¶ 1} This is an appeal from a judgment entered by the Ninth District Court of Appeals finding that Lonna Loudin presented genuine issues of material fact that would allow her medical-malpractice claims to survive summary judgment. We affirm the judgment of the court of appeals and hold that damages for emotional distress stemming directly from a physical injury are to be considered in a traditional medical-malpractice claim and that emotional distress stemming directly from a physical injury is not the basis for an independent cause of action for the negligent infliction of…
