Jason Hummel pled guilty to burglary (720 ILCS 5/19 — 1(a) (West 2000)) and was convicted of aggravated battery following a bench trial (720 ILCS 5/12 — 4(a) (West 2000)). The court sentenced the defendant to an extended term of 10 years’ imprisonment for aggravated battery and a consecutive 6-year term for burglary.
