Renwick Stephenson, a minor, filed his petition for habeas corpus in the Juvenile Court of Dallas County alleging that he was being illegally confined and restrained by George Looney, Chief Probation Officer of the Dallas County Juvenile Department, In his petition he alleged that there had been no detention hearing and that there was no showing of probable-cause to believe that he had committed a crime or that he would abscond.
