HINES, Justice.

Malaika Minyon Hunt appeals her convictions for malice murder, financial transaction card theft, and theft by taking in connection with the fatal shooting of Vernon Alderman. She claims that it was error to overrule her challenge under Batson v. Kentucky, 476 U. S. 79 (106 SC 1712, 90 LE2d 69) (1986), and to admit into evidence at trial a prior act; she also maintains that trial counsel did not render effective assistance. Finding the claims to be without merit, we affirm.
