BANKS, J.

This is an action for damages arising ont of a trespass to land. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiff and assessed damages at $3030. Judgment was entered accordingly. The defendant moved for a new trial upon eighteen grounds, one of them being that the verdict was excessive. The court below granted the motion in general terms, without specifying the ground upon which it acted. The plaintiff brings the case here on exceptions.
