This is in reply to your inquiry concerning LB 653 which is intended to revise portions of the Nebraska statutes relating to the bonding of state officials and employees.

You first inquire if subsection (1) of section 8 applies to the bond referred to in subsection (5) of section 8. In our opinion, it does. Section 8 is an amendment of section 11-201, R.R.S. 1943. As section 11-201, as amended, is set forth in the bill, it begins: `It shall be the duty of the Director of Insurance:' It then lists five numbered subsection, each of which begins with a directory such as…
