CIVIL PROCEDURE

An individual licensed under the provisions of Section 1, Chapter 74, O.S.L. 1976 (12 O.S. 158.1 [12-158.1] (1976)) may not levy an attachment or an execution, but may serve any process designed to compel the appearance before a court of a party to a civil action. The Attorney General has considered your request for an opinion wherein you ask, in effect, the following question: "May private process servers, licensed under the provisions of Section 1, Chapter 74, O.S.L. 1976 (12 O.S. 158.1 [12-158.1] (1976)), issue a writ of execution, and if they may not, what limitations are…
