OPINION

MURNAGHAN, Circuit Judge:

An employee who wishes to remain a union member but desires to contribute financially only to the aspects of union *285activities related to collective bargaining sued the union whose rules prohibited such limited membership. Several nonmember employees also sued, claiming that the union was spending their mandatory payments on activities unrelated to collective bargaining.
