This is a murder-for-hire case. Gunmen shot and wounded Sonny Alaniz and killed Benito Sanchez outside Sanchez=s apartment. A jury convicted Appellant Donald R. Simmons for capital murder and attempted capital murder for hiring the gunmen to kill Alaniz.
