Upon appeal from a recorder's court of Cumberland County, the defendant was convicted at March Term, 1940, of Cumberland County Superior Court, upon a warrant charging that "on or about the 5th day of October, 1938, L. A. Hodges did unlawfully, willfully and failed and neglected to provide for his two illegitimate children, L. A.
