KINSER, Justice.

This appeal involves a funds transfer made pursuant to alleged unauthorized payment orders and the receiving bank's subsequent freezing of the transferred funds without refunding them to the customer's account. The primary issue concerns whether Code § 8.4A-204(a) preempted certain common law claims asserted as a result of the unauthorized payment orders and the freezing of the funds.
